As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience, I am committed to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion and expertise. My practice is rooted in a client-centered, strength-based approach that honors your unique needs and goals. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, neurodivergence, or relationship challenges, I offer tailored support to guide you toward growth and healing.

My private practice, established in 2010, focuses on providing specialized therapy for individuals dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), trauma, chronic health issues, and other mental health challenges. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which allows me to offer targeted interventions that promote healing and resilience. I also work extensively with children, teens, and families, addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, and parenting challenges.

As an LGBTQIA+ affirmative and culturally sensitive therapist. I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all clients. My practice is inclusive and welcoming, ensuring that everyone feels respected and understood.

Educational background and experience

My journey in mental health began with a strong foundation in psychology. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from UCLA, where I first developed my interest in understanding human behavior and mental processes. Eager to deepen my expertise, I pursued a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

**Professional Experience:**

I began my career in 1998 as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist, working with the Lovaas Institute and later at the Center for Autism & Related Disorders (CARD). These early experiences shaped my passion for working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities.

In 2000, I started providing therapy while pursuing my Master’s degree. After completing my studies and gaining extensive hands-on experience, I became a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2008. Over the years, I have worked in various therapeutic settings, including community mental health clinics, school-based programs, out-patient clinics, intensive in-home programs, and residential programs serving individuals involved with the foster care and probation systems. I also served as a clinical supervisor for 8 years at a school/community-based mental health program, where I was able to pass my expertise to unlicensed therapists, helping them develop their clinical skills and professional paths.
